Pat and I are making the 5.5 hour drive home after a beautiful weekend in Old Forge.
We spent some time peeping the leaves, took Taffy & Woody, my in-laws dogs on a long walk and helped do some work on the family house.
Old Forge is special to us for so many reasons, including our engagement and wedding. It’s really nice to take a stroll to the bridge where Pat proposed or down the street where we had our wedding reception.
It’s also a great place to just unplug, read a good book and spend some quality time together. I volunteered to pick up pizzas with my father in law, Don, on Saturday night. It gave us a chance to chat and for me to answer a bunch of questions that he had about the upcoming surgery. I was feeling apprehensive about telling my in laws about having sleeve surgery but I’m so glad that I did. They’ve been super supportive! It just goes to show that you can’t assume anything and that the people who love you will be there for you.
