This week has been a bit of a whirlwind. I may have been a wee bit cranky on Tuesday, but once that day was over I was feeling pretty good.
On Wednesday, the hematologist told me that my bloodwork was totally normal, gave me a big hug and told me how happy and excited she was for me. I also had a fun rehearsal with chorale that night. Who wants to come watch me sing on December 7th?! Anyone want to buy a booster?!
Yesterday, I attended an all day conference on Special Education regulations (yawn) where I randomly ran into an old friend from my SJB days. (Hi Stefanie!) Afterwards, I got a haircut / color (gotta start covering stray grays!) with my super talented stylist Sam.
I heard some news about a friend from college who is struggling with her health. Without going into detail, I’d like to share a link to the American Transplant Foundation and The US Government Information on Organ Donation and Transplantation pages. Please take a minute to look into becoming an organ donor! Hearing the news about my friend is a reminder be grateful for my health; the good, the bad and the ugly. It’s also a wake up call to get over myself. Drinking protein shakes morning, noon and night to prepare for elective surgery is NOT remotely hard compared with the battles that other people are fighting.
Last Sunday, I discovered that my enemy is boredom. So, this weekend, Pat and I will be hanging out with my brother in law, sister in law, and very adorable niece. I also have been dying to see A Star Is Born, so I made plans with my best friend, Erica, on Sunday. Fair warning to the people I will be seeing this weekend: my breath stinks. Ketosis is a bitch.
I cannot believe surgery is NEXT SATURDAY. Ahhhhhh! Yay!!!!!!
