I know that it’s been a while since I’ve checked in. Mostly it’s because things have been pretty status quo and I feel weird writing the same things repeatedly. I am still losing weight at a steady clip! The end.
We bought a fancy scale that also measures muscle mass, water, bone density and calculates your BMI. It links up to an app called Health Mate. Health Mate tracks your activity level, heart rate, etc using information gathered from your Apple Watch. It’s pretty cool.
That being said, I am really trying to be careful not to get into the habit of weighing myself too often. I think the scale has been “fun” because I’ve lost weight pretty steadily. And because I love technology. But I am a little worried about how it will be once I plateau again. It’s bound to happen!
At the end of April / beginning of May, I had a round of bloodwork and doctors’ appointments. All is well and if things keep going this way, hopefully a baby won’t be in the too far distant future.
In “Gee, Meg, what a terrible problem to have” news: I got rid of EIGHT BAGS of clothing. It turns out that when you have WLS, you really don’t need to keep any clothing from the year before. I was delusional when I packed away all of my shorts and t-shirts this Fall. My favorite pair of shorts had to be held up. In a desperate attempt to save them, I suggested taking them to the tailor. Pat, ever the voice of reason, took one look at me and said “Absolutely NOT.” I promptly ordered 6 new pairs of shorts, a bunch of t-shirts and a couple new pairs of pants. By the time they arrived, the new clothes were a little roomy. I know, I know… wah.
Now that Summer is upon us, I’ll have much more interesting things to write about and will probably pick up the pace a little bit.
